The Doors were an American rock band from Los Angeles , California . They were formed in 1965 by Jim Morrison (vocalist), Ray Manzarek (keyboardist), John Densmore (drummer), and Robby Krieger (guitarist).
Doors Vocalist Jim Morrison contributed his mysterious and enigmatic lyrics along with unpredictable stage behavior. He passed away in July of 1971 leaving Manzarek, Densmore, and Krieger to continue as a threesome until 1973. Although they were only together for hardly eight years, they have sold over 32 million albums in the United States .
